Q What does receiving the braces involve?
A During the initial consultation the dentist will take X-rays and photos of your teeth to see what needs correcting. If you are classed as a mild orthodontic case then you should be suitable for the 6 Month Smiles treatment. If you are suitable:

• Teeth impressions will be taken and sent off for production of the brace.
• The braces will be fitted and your dentist will arrange a follow-up appointment.
• The braces will be adjusted every 4-5 weeks during a short check-up.
• When the treatment is completed your dentist will issue you with a retainer, which stops the teeth from returning to their previous state. Ensure you ask your dentist if the retainer is included within the price.

A 6 Month Smiles can range from £1500 to £3000. However, this is dependent on the complexity of the individual case. In some cases the individual will require general dental work before they can receive the brace, such as fillings/composite bonding, but this can be discussed during an initial consultation.
